All-India second rank holder in the Civil Services Examination

Students at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, had a unique school re-opening experience on Wednesday when Dr V Sriram, all-India second rank holder in the Civil Services Examination, shared with them his memories of the school. Sriram, who passed out from Bhavan’s in 2004, recalled his schooldays and the role the school played in his career development.   Addressing a huge gathering of students, teachers and parents, he said schooldays are fun and should be enjoyed. “School is important for any individual as he carries its memories throughout his life. The selection of the right institution also plays a prominent role,” he said. “It gives us great satisfaction to see our students being successful in their field of expertise. Sriram was an all-rounder who gave equal priority to studies and extra-curricular activities,” said Nirmala Venkateswaran, school principal.
“Children can easily relate to the success stories of their immediate seniors. Such experiences inspire them and hence we thought it would be appropriate to have him on the very first day of the academic year,” she said. Vice-principal Uma Devi also spoke. Later, Sriram spent some time with Plus-two students in their smart class room.
