Science Club
"An ideal scientific mind is one that never stops exploring". - Sir. Issac Newton
The activities of the Science Club, conducted in the school, encouraged our young scientists to learn and grow. using exploration and better understanding of scientific ideas as important tools.
The science club sessions which comprised three gatherings, motivated students to discover the world of unending knowledge and comprehand scientific topics with care under the guidance of Sunitha Miss and Rati Miss.
The first session was based on scientific or science related articles in the day's newspaper. This, not only encouraged children to develop their scientific skill but also helped circulate newspaper reading habit in them. Newspaper articles were read aloud in class and various concepts discussed for better understanding.
The second meeting involved a recap of the previous session and also a memory test based on scientific phenomenon wherein, concepts and reactions were discussed among students. A rapid fire session followed where questions were asked regarding the topic of discussion. The third and final gathering was definitely the most interesting one. A classwise science quiz was conducted. Our budding scientists ensured their full dedication, enthusiasm and active participation. The quiz gave better scientific comprehension as well as an all round idea of an actual quiz competition which prepared the young minds for various inter school competitions in the future.
The science club activities, ensured wholesome development of scientific skill and aptitude for the future Einsteins and also and also Contributed to their overall character building.


Encon club
The Encon Club aims at promoting awareness regarding the conservation of oil which is  non-renewable energy source. The Encon club functions actively and the response received from the students has been appreciated.

The Oil and energy conservation fortnight from 15th Jan 2010 - 30th Jan 2010 was held with great fervour. As part of enriching the awareness regarding energy conservation, posters were displayed in the school campus. Essay writing and drawing competitions were held during club activity period.

Social service club

The Social Service Club activities began with a class discussion on the importance of  inculcating values like kindness, empathy, generosity, punctuality, dedication etc. in one's dedication etc. in one's life. After discussing in groups each group shared its views with others. Through activity they understood that one must possess these values to lead a happy and blissful life and create a haven around him and for others. In the next class the members spoke about the prominent leaders, social activists and satyagrahis who influenced them a lot and helped them realise their vision to serve humanity. They made cloth bags and gave them to less fortunate ones. They designed 'Save Energy' slogan charts and stuck them in the school campus. Blending their unique talents with service to others, they experienced the exultation of their own sprit and found happiness in sharing and giving.

Interact Club
Interact is an international organization of social service clubs for young people of secondary school age that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship and promotes international understanding and peace.

Interact Clubs are sponsored by Rotary Clubs as a programme of Rotary International. The Rotary Clubs provide guidance and inspiration, but the Interact Clubs are self-governed and self-supporting.

Each year, Interact Clubs complete at least one community service project and at least one project that further international understanding and goodwill. Along the way, members develop their leadership skills and initiative while making new friends.

Through their services and activities, Interactors learn the importance of:

  • Developing leadership skills and personal integrity.
  • Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others.
  • Understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work.
  • Advancing international understanding and goodwill.
     

Literary Club
The club strives to inculcate an interest in the English Language. It helps the students to explore the richness of the language, to develop the reading habit, to improve and perfect communication skills by providing stimuli other than those available in the classroom.

Integrity Club
Integrity Club has been conceived to train young minds in the school to develop their commitment towards values. Integrity Club was formed in our school under the guidance of teacher co-ordinators Mrs. Anita G. and Soumya Menon.

The club meetings were held once in a week. The activities included painting competition, on the topic 'Energy Efficient Smart City' and essay writing competition on the topic. 'Need of clean for air pollution control'. Quiz was conducted for classes VI to IX. Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight was observed from 16th to 31st January.

Through various activities children have internalized ethical values like responsibility, tolerance, honesty etc. and they are made aware of their immense power to make the right choices and bring a tremendous change in the society.

Nature Club

The Nature Club emphasises the need to save nature. It provided the students to understand the importance of conserving our mother nature.

A session was held to create awareness about problems faced by the mother nature among the students. As a part of this, saplings were brought by the students and planted in the school. Students were allowed to discuss the importance of various medicinal plants and other trees which are very useful to mankind.

Students enjoyed all the sessions that were organized and definitely learnt some qualities in protecting and saving nature.
The club played a vital role in inculcating an awareness in students to protect nature. The major objective was to make the pupils aware of the importance of nature which contributes all its resources to the living organisms. The club also aimed to develop an eco friendly attitude and behaviour among the students. In addition to these, the club had other objectives like disposal of waste, planting trees, cleaning the school campus and the maintenance of the school garden. The school garden and even the laboratories were beautified with plants.

Apart from these, students were also engaged in spreading the usefulness of nature among the other pupils of the schools. With these programmes & aims, the eco club functioned effectively for the academic year, planning activities and programmes for protecting the environment to save our lives.

The club also aimed to develop an eco friendly attitude and behaviour among the students. In addition to these, the club had other objectives like disposal of waste, planting trees, cleaning the school campus, maintenance of school garden.

Reading & Literary Club

A good Book is like a Best Friend”. It teaches us many things. By reading books we gain knowledge, improve vocabulary and communicative skills. Our aim was to develop to reading skills in pupils. Students were asked to bring story book and asked to write the summary of the book they had read. Many club activities like quiz competitions framing questions about current affairs, book reviews were held students were made to read classics and present the review in the class. They developed imaginative power and creativity. Several games like match the book and author, word games, puzzles, identifying important characters in books, role play, dramatization etc. Were conducted during the club activity period.

Quiz club

The quiz club functioned actively throughout this academic year showing promise of keeping alive the feeling of competition and team work. The main objective of this club is to prepare students for external quiz competitions. Keeping this in mind, we conducted a preliminary test for the primary classes and a few students were selected. These children are given special coaching after the school hours. Similarly coaching is also given to students of secondary classes during the activity periods. We are also conducting quiz competitions and giving them information related to current affairs during these periods. Our students participated in all major quiz programmes held in the city like Limca. Young world, Enquire M.K.K. Nair quiz, Science quiz etc.

Health and Wellness Club

The aim of Health & Wellness Club is to create awareness on health and wellness among students. The following sessions and activities were planned and executed during the club activity periods.

A discussion was initiated on common dietary problems and an activity was done to prepare a chart on healthy nutritious food and junk foods. Group discussions was conducted on healthy eating habits.

A session was conducted by the PT sir regarding introduction to health and fitness to be maintained.

Health is the overall mental & physical state of a person; the absence of diseases. Wellness refers tot he state of being in optional mental & physical health.

Both primary (IV & V) and secondary (VI & VII) students participated actively in all the health club activities. The club activities included poster making, chart making, power point presentation and health quizzes. The club members whole heartly participated in all the activities. The health club was successful in achieving its aspirations of creating awareness among young children of the importance of a physcially, socially and mentally healthy society.

Health Club
The aim of the Health Club is to create awareness in developing mental, social and physical health so as to develop a healthy young generation. Both primary (IV & V) and secondary (VI & VII) students participated actively in all the Health Club activities.

The club activities included poster making, chart making, powerpoint presentations and health quizzes. The health club was successful in achieving its aspirations of creating awareness among young children of the importance of a physically, socially and mentally healthy society.

Consumer Club
The aim of the Consumer Club is to create awareness on consumer rights among children. The club members collect information about various consumer courts in Kerala and discuss about the types of cases it dealt with.

A group discussion on ‘The Rights of the Consumer’ was also conducted. The Club also organized a slogan writing competition and a painting competition.
