INCREDIBLE TWIN ACHIEVEMENTS FOR APARNA SANJAY

Aparna Sanjay , class XII student of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, has been selected by the CBSE to attend a two day programme “Celebrating Excellence on the Eve of Independence Day, 2014” , which is a joint venture by the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India and the CBSE. The Ministry and CBSE have selected 0.1% of the student population of the country under the head ‘Meritorious Students of India’ to attend this programme. Aparna has been nominated by the CBSE taking into account her curricular and extracurricular achievements. The two day programme includes visit to historical places, felicitation by the Ministry and the Board, meeting with the Minister for Human Resources, interaction with academicians and scientists, and finally attending the Independence Day Celebrations and the Prime Minister’s Address at the Red Fort on the 15th of August.

Yet another feather in her cap!!

Aparna Sanjay has been adjudged the “Best Student of the year 2013-14 by Shikshan Bharathi, the educational wing of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai. It is the 3rd time that Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar has clinched this coveted award.

 

 

National Award for Sanskrit Teacher

Ms. Umadevi K, Sanskrit teacher bagged the National Award for the best teacher 2013instituted by the MHRD, New Delhi. She was invited to attend the award ceremony at New Delhi on September 5th 2014, Teacher’s day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

MESSAGE TO THE SCHOOLS

CBSE South Zone Hand Ball Tournament 2013 – 2014.

We are pleased to inform you that your school team has been included in the CBSE South Zone Hand Ball Tournament 2013-2014. The details of the tournament is available in our school website. Looking forward for your kind co-operation to make this tournament a grand success.

How to reach us? By train : Nearest railway stations are Ernakulam South / ERS

(3 kms to the venue) and Ernakulam North (ERN)( 7 kms to the venue).

By road : Reach Kadavanthra, Kochi. From bus stop 1 km to us.

Schedule : 21st to 24th October, 2013 (4 days)

Reporting : 21st October,2013 - 08:00am till 04:00pm

Inaugural function : 4.30 pm., on 21st October, 2013

Team managers meeting : 6 pm., on 21st October, 2013

Matches : 7.30 pm onwards on 21st October, 2013.

Valedictory function : 5.00 pm., on 24th October, 2013


Age group specification.

  • a) Under 14 years – born on or after 01.01.2000.
  • b) Under 19 years – born on or after 01.01.1995.


Boarding and lodging:

  • All the participants will be given class room accommodation(with bed or mattresses according to availability) along with their team managers & coaches.
  • Vegetarian food will be privided to all the teams and officials on payment basis. The charges are Rs.250 per head per day( as per c.b.s.e. norms) This amount covers transportation,breakfast, lunch, tea, snacks and dinner.


IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO TEAM MANAGERS

Team managers have to ensure:

  • Authorization letter from the Head of the institution.Identity card of the players signed by the Principal. School flag. Players original Date Of Birth certificate
  • The proof of (photocopy) sports affiliation fee paid to CBSE for the year 2013-2014.
  • The teams with full school uniform and school flag for the marchpast which is mandatory.
  • The team photo with the school principal at the time of registration.
  • 10th class certificate with photo issued by the board for players studying in class xi and xii.
  • CBSE registration number given in class for players studying in class ix and above.
  • No valuable items such as jewellery, mobile, cameraare not accompanied.(The team managers will be responsible for the safety of their belongings.
  • The proper information is given to organizers regarding the exact date, time and mode of journey to enable the organizers to receive the teams from the railway station / bus station.
  • Arrangements for return journey.


Other terms and conditions:

  • Transportaion will be provided only to schools paying 250 per head.
  • No part payment for food and accomodation faciity will be allowed. Using one time will be considered as full day. Twelve hours prior information is required to avail refund. Refund will be made between 10 am & 4 pm.
  • A caution deposit of Rs.1000/- per team will be collected on reporting and the refund shall be made while the team vacating our premises.
  • All teams have to vacate the premises before 12’O clock, midnight, on 24th October,2013.
  • In case of injuries / accidents first aid will be provided, other expenses of the treatment required are to be met by the team.
  • The team members are to take care of the property of the host school and accomodation centers. They will be responsible for any damage caused.
  • Complaints, if any, are to be referred to the jury of appeal with a fee of Rs.1000(one thousand only) and the decision of the Jury will be final.

HANDBALL
(BOYS’ & GIRLS’)

  • The Handball Tournament shall be conducted according to the rules as adopted by the Handball Federation of India (HFI), unless otherwise modified in these rules.
  • Each team shall consist of maximum twelve players. A team while playing must have a goal keeper. Not more than seven players, i.e. six court players plus one goal keeper shall be present on the court at a time.
  • Only the substitutes, two team officials and suspended players (if any), are allowed to stay in the substitution area. One official from each participating team must be listed on the scoring sheet as being the only responsible person to speak to the game officials.
  • The tournament at Zone level shall be organized at knock out basis. In case the numbers of teams reporting are 8 or less than 8, the tournament may be organized on league cum knock out basis.
  • From each Zone, the First and second position winning teams will qualify to participate in Nationals.
  • The school Organizing Zone level competition shall take a Group Photo of the teams that have qualified to participate at National level competition. The photo shall be signed by the host school Principal and forwarded to the school organizing next level of competition along with the original entry Performa.
  • At National level, the tournament shall be organized on league cum knock out basis for which all the teams may be divided into pools.
  • At National level- If the number of teams reporting are 12 and above, all the teams shall be divided into 04 pools. From each pool, the top two teams will qualify to play at quarter final stage followed by SF and Final.
    If the numbers of teams reporting are 11 or less, all the teams shall be divided into 03 pools. From each pool, the top two teams will qualify for quarter final stage matches + two teams out of the remaining teams will be placed in quarter final stage matches considering points in league matches. In case, more than one team has equal points then goal average will be taken into consideration. In case tie still stands, the teams will be picked on the basis of penalty strokes between the teams that are tying.
    If the numbers of teams reporting are 08 or less, all the teams shall be divided into 02 pools. From each pool, the team emerging on top two positions will qualify for semi final stage matches.
  • If a match ends in a draw after having been played for the normal period and winner has to be decided then:-
    - An extra time is played, following a five minutes intermission, if a game is tied at the end of the normal playing time. A fresh coin toss determines ball possession and the right to choose ends.
    - The extra time period will consist of two halves of five minutes each. The team changes ends at half time but there will be no half time break.
    - If the match is again tied after the first extra time period, a second period will be played after a five minutes break. In this extra time period again teams will play two halves of five minutes each.
    - If the tie is not decided even after 2nd extra time, the match will be decided by taking penalty throws to be taken in set of five throws; after first set of throws if the match is still tied, another set of five penalty throws shall be taken.
    - If a match is still not decided then sudden death system should be followed.
  • The Merit Certificates shall be awarded to the teams winning first, second and third positions.
  • Participation Certificates will be awarded to all other players who actually participate in the tournament.
